Frankenmuth, MI formerly of Detroit, MI
Passed away peacefully with family by his side Sunday, December 27th, 2020, at his home; age 92 years. Warren was born on September 23rd, 1928 in Detroit, MI to the late Harry and Elsie Priehs. He was married to Mary Ellen Priehs on June 15, 1951. Warren honorably served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was employed in the City of Detroit as a police officer until his retirement. He then worked as an investigator in the MESC as well as a lay minister for the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod. Warren was also a member of the St. Lorenz Lutheran Men's Choir, the Frankenmuth Lion's Club, and the American Legion Post 150. He enjoyed traveling, singing with the Men's Choir, and volunteering on mission trips. He was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who loved spending time with his family.
Surviving are a son Warren (Karen) Priehs of Sterling Heights, MI; 3 daughters Jan (Mark) Schiefer of Richville, MI, Jayne (Bruce) Braun of Westland, MI, Julie (Steve) Zill of Hemlock, MI; 14 grandchildren Josh, Kayla, Jacob and Jonathan Priehs, Andrew (Tracy) Schiefer, Rebecca (Jason) Cook, Kyle (Kaitlyn) Schiefer, Daniel Braun, Brett (Erin) Braun, Cara (Ryan) West, Steve (Elizabeth) Zill, Betsy (Kevin) Pruzinsky, Mike (Kayla) Zill, Scott (Laura) Zill; and 14 great grandchildren.
Warren was predeceased by his wife Mary Ellen.
Due to COVID 19 restrictions a private funeral will take place. The service will be broadcast on the St. Lorenz website at https://www.stlorenz.org/stream/ on Tuesday, December 29 th , at 4 P.M. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Lorenz Lutheran Church or Wellspring Services Hospice.
