Wilmar H. Rodammer

Frankenmuth, MI formerly of Birch Run

Went home with his Lord and Savior Wednesday, April 25, 2018, at Wellspring Lutheran Home; age 96 years.  Wilmar was born on May 22, 1921 in Vassar, MI to the late Fred and Katie Rodammer. He honorably served in the U.S. Army during WWII. Wilmar was married to Leona Trinklein on May 15, 1948; she predeceased him on January 11, 2013.

Wilmar was a lifelong Farmer, he also worked at Universal Engineering until his retirement. He was a member of St. Martin Lutheran Church, Michigan Farm Bureau and American Legion for 65 years.

Surviving are his children; Ruth Barritt of Frankenmuth, MI, John (Kathy) Rodammer of Newark, DE, and Shirley (Lee) Gibelyou of Cadillac, MI; 4 grandchildren; 2 step grandchildren; 4 step great grandchildren; brother-in-law Walter Trinklein and sister-in-law Bonnie Trinklein.

Wilmar was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Richard Barritt; 2 brothers, Elmer (Esther) Rodammer and Arnold (Erna) Rodammer; sister, Selma Rodammer; sister-in-law, Betty Trinklein and brother in-law, E. Michael Trinklein.

Funeral services will take place on Sunday, April 29, 2018 at 2 p.m. at St. Martin Lutheran Church, Birch Run, Michigan.  Rev. James Chinery will officiate. Wilmar's family will receive visitors at Cederberg Funeral Home of Frankenmuth, 590 N. Franklin St. on Saturday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Sunday at the church from 1 p.m. until the time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Martin Lutheran Church Building Fund, American Legion Post 150, or Wellspring Lutheran Services.
