Winifred "Winn" Blanche Saeger

Passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at Covenant Medical Center following a brief illness; age 94 years. She was born on May 22, 1930 to the late Paul and Winifred Labian. Winn grew up in Flint and earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Central Michigan University. She also attended Holy Cross College in Massachusetts and Colgate University in New York. While at CMU, Winn met the love of her life, Al Saeger, during a chance encounter at their swimming class. They married on June 28, 1952.
During their 66 years of marriage, Al and Winn enjoyed dancing, traveling the world, spending time at their Murphy Lake cottage, and owning and operating both the Pine Run Inn in Clio and Malu Lani Resort in Bokeelia, FL. Al preceded her in death on July 10, 2018. Winn was proud of her career as a math and physical education teacher at Beecher Junior High and as the director of Native American Education in Mt. Morris. She will be remembered for making beautiful flower arrangements, hosting fabulous family Christmas parties, her talent as a seamstress, and her love of gardening, restoring antiques, and shelling. Winn was a member of St. Lorenz Lutheran Church.
She leaves behind four children: Rae (Arnie) Luallen, Kim (Hal) Wininger, Sid (Bob Mazarowski) Saeger, and Matt (Cheri) Saeger; five grandchildren: Brooke (Ryan) Baker, Anne (Erich Balbach) Wininger, Clint Wininger, Wes (Megan) Wininger, and John (Lake Sweet) Wininger; 13 great-grandchildren and a brother, Paul Labian.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings Dolores Purkey and Jack Labian, and her grandson, Lance Formolo.
Funeral Service will take place on Monday, July 15, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Lorenz Lutheran Church, 1030 W. Tuscola, Frankenmuth, Michigan. Winifred's family will receive visitors at Cederberg Funeral Home of Frankenmuth, 590 N. Franklin St. on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. and on Monday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Lorenz Lutheran School Music Program.
