Jason Richards

Passed away Friday, June 24, 2016 unexpectedly in his sleep; age 40 years.  Jason was born on June 12, 1976 in Royal Oak, MI.   Jason graduated Valedictorian of Frankenmuth High School in 1994 and received his Bachelors Degree from Duke University in 1998.  He owned and operated McDonald's restaurants in northern Michigan.  Jason served on the board of the Ronald McDonald's Children's Charities.  He was the Treasurer of  McDonald's Outstate Co-op, and chairman of the Political Action Committee for McDonald's.  Jason enjoyed golfing, skiing, bird hunting and had a great passion for Duke University basketball.  He loved gifting others with overflowing generosity and his force and zest for life were contagious.

Surviving are his parents, Gary and Ethel Richards, brother Derek (Amy) Richards, best buddy nephew Rex Richards, his new little niece Brooke Elaine Richards, his grandmother, Elaine Richards, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

According to Jason's wishes, cremation has taken place.  Jason's family will receive visitors at Cederberg Funeral Home of Frankenmuth, 590 N. Franklin St. on Tuesday, June 28, 2016 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  Private family services will take place at a time to be announced later.  Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Ronald McDonald House in Lansing, MI.
