Our Beginnings

In 1845 the first settlers arrived in Frankenmuth from Neuendettelsau, Bavaria. Along with the customs and traditions of their German culture, they brought Christian care for the deceased.

Christoph Nuechterlein was the first undertaker for the new community. In 1937 Carl Nuechterlein, the son of Christoph, built the first funeral home solely dedicated to serving bereaved families. That funeral home would serve the growing community for the next 65 years. It changed ownership in 1950 and again in 1970 when Harold and Jean Cederberg purchased the Cederberg-Zucker Funeral Home. Their son Kim Cederberg then purchased the business from them in 1988. In July of 2002, Kim and Sue Cederberg along with their son Aaron Cederberg dedicated their new funeral home at its current location on N. Franklin St. In October of 2016, Aaron Cederberg purchased the business from his father and continues the family tradition of serving the Frankenmuth and surrounding communities.
